About VegFamily

VegFamily.com was founded in 1999 by Erin Pavlina. Pregnant with her daughter, Emily, she searched the internet for information about how to raise a vegan child, but found little. So she created a website that vegan parents could use as a forum to discuss the challenges of raising vegan children. In time, the site became a monthly emagazine.

VegFamily's purpose is to provide information to parents that will help them raise healthy vegan children, help their children make the transition to veganism, and provide a forum for them to interact with other vegan parents. VegFamily covers topics in the field of pregnancy, breastfeeding, feeding toddlers and children, teen vegans, nutrition, health, and the social and emotional challenges of raising vegan children in a non-vegan society. In 2007 I became the new owner of VegFamily. As editor and publisher it is my intent to broaden the vision and growth of VegFamily to reach more parents and establish more resources, information, and features of benefit to families.

Today, VegFamily is the largest online publication solely devoted to vegan family living. On VegFamily.com you will find hundreds of articles and information to help you raise vegan children. Running VegFamily is extremely rewarding and challenging and we love meeting new vegan parents and learning more about what life is going to present vegan children. We're proud to be able to provide a website full of information that makes the lives of other vegan parents easier. We want other parents to know that they are not alone, that someone has answers to their questions, and that there is a safe and friendly place to talk about the challenges and joys of raising vegan children.
