Question:

Which fruit tree is the easiest to care for? We don't have a lot of space but we want as many fruit trees as we can get. Any recommendations?

Answer:

What is easiest to grow varies with each region of the country. For example where we live, in the temperate Pacific Northwest, we can easily grow apples and pears but would have more difficulty with citrus. Check with your local county extension agent or local garden club to determine which fruit trees can survive in your particular climate. It is important to choose trees that are disease resistant. There are semidwarf and dwarf fruit trees, semidwarfs usually grow to 12'-18' and dwarf grow to 8'-10'.
