Book ReviewThe Ultimate Uncheese Cookbookby Joanne Stepaniak Review by Jennifer Santoyo If you have read any of Joanne Stepaniak's writings, you know how wonderful her ideas are. If you thought she had done all she could, think again. The Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook is loaded with recipes and tips for anyone missing that tasty favorite: cheese. The beginning of the book contains a great introduction by Vesanto Melina, MS, RD. regarding uncheese versus cheese, including the history of cheese and detailed information regarding the effects of dairy products on health. Article continues below The recipes in this book range from dips and sauces to quiches and sweets. One recipe in particular that caught my eye (and taste buds) was the Philly Potato Chowder. I used to love cream of potato soup, and have missed the taste, but after trying this Chowder, I will pine no more. This was a very hearty soup! Another favorite was the Cheezy Rice and Broccoli Casserole. My son is a big fan of broccoli and adding these unique touches to his favorite dish was a hit! The Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook is a great addition to your cookbook collection, and a nice followup to Stepaniak's first Uncheese Cookbook. |
