I am 76 years old and a few months ago, started using soy milk in my cereal which i eat each morning with cooked dry fruits. I've been doing this for several months now and suddenly noticed that I've developed small hard pimples under the skin on my face and body. I stopped drinking soy milk (substituted rice milk or almond mild) and am still waiting for the pimples to go away. I've never had pimples before in my life. Do you think it was the soy milk?

It is often difficult to directly link physical reactions to what you are eating but if the only dietary change that you made was switching to soy, it is quite possible that drinking soy milk is not the best option for you. If the pimples subside within the next few months, you can safely say that the soy was the issue. If you are still plagued with pimples, you may need to see a dermatologist or figure out if you made any other dietary changes at the time that you switched to using soy. Remember that it can often take as long or longer for symptoms to go away as it did for them to appear. Good luck.
