A friend of mine is a trainer at the Olive Garden. She's made a hard effort to educate employee's on not only vegetarianism, but veganism. She's not a vegan herself, but in order to better serve customer's that come into the restraunt, she feels it's important to be able to truely recommend a vegan dish, if need be. At any rate, the pasta that the Olive garden uses is semolina pasta. There is no egg used in the pasta (it's not fresh pasta), but there is modified food starch. Somebody told her that modified food starch isn't vegan. I haven't found any info that concurs with that. Any information would be very helpful...Thanks in advance:)

I don't know why it wouldn't be Vegan.

However, it's not the healthiest thing in the world. It's basically empty calories, a highly-refined agribiz product (made from corn, I believe) that is cheap and provides bulk to food.
