This is a question for Iris and any other Australian vegans on the boards...I was wondering if you are able to get vegan cheese over there, and if so, could you please tell me the brand so I can try to get my healthfood shop to order some...We can get one brand of Australian soy cheese here but it contains casein, are there any other brands?
Thanks so much...
Alas no:(
I haven't come across anything, but i will be looking on hoping that someone else knows one

Thanks guys. I can't stop thinking about vegan cheese at the moment because my vegan sister is at university in England and is having great pleasure in telling me about the vegan cheese on toast etc she has been enjoying. Jealous!
Hopefully one day some will appear in this part of the world. 5 years ago there were 2 brands of soymilk, now there are several, there are also more vegan icecream brands, etc,so I guess it's just a matter of time before someone thinks of vegan cheese. Here's hoping!!!!

Iris- I did a bit of research, and found that Kingland make a vegan soy cheese (that comes in a variety of flavours!). It contains lactic acid, but apparently this is vegan. We are able to get the Kingland soy yogurt, butter and cream cheese here, so am hoping I'll be able to get my healthfood shop to get me some of this cheese stuff......
How exciting :D
We have the other three items at most Coles i'm going to ring them today and see if they can get the cheese.
Thanks Sophie
