Anyone here practising Attachment Parenting?

We're hoping to adopt soon, & intend to do attachment parenting with our child. We'd love to make contact with any vegan families who are already raising their kids this way.

(If you're wondering what attachment parenting is, here's the summary from the API website:

The long-range vision of Attachment Parenting is to raise children who will become adults with a highly developed capacity for empathy and connection. It eliminates violence as a means for raising children, and ultimately helps to prevent violence in society as a whole.

The essence of Attachment Parenting is about forming and nurturing strong connections between parents and their children. Attachment Parenting challenges us as parents to treat our children with kindness, respect and dignity, and to model in our interactions with them the way we'd like them to interact with others.)

There are a lot of families here that practise attachment parenting. This place is amazing.

I did with my two boys and I loved it. I carried my babies everywhere and they were happy babies and children that didn't fuss. I didn't let them cry it out and now that they are in school they know it's safe to come to me with anything and that I'll be there to respond in a positive way to anything they have to say.

They don't use their fists to solve problems. They don't bully or belittle others. They like to play outside and aren't hooked on video games. They have a lot of self-confidence and are well-liked by everyone who meets them. Family, friends, neighbours, teachers have all said to me what great boys I have. I agree. they are dreamy.

We are doing it as well. Our 7 month old sleeps in a cosleeper and we love it. She has a crib in another room, but I won't be putting her in there alone for a few more weeks or months. I won't do cry it out either. She's a chatty happy little doll.

We have always worn our babies, never let them cry it out, and co-slept with our daughter. My husband listened to his mother and resisted attachment parenting, till I made him do some reading and now we are strong believers in it.
