Question Is it anti-vegan to call your child "honey?"

I just thought about this. I always call my daughter "honey" and she even calls me "honey" now, too, which I thought was so cute. But then I got to thinking... We call people honey presumably because it implies sweetness. So should a vegan refrain from using the word in that context, since we oppose using bee's honey for our "sweet" purposes?

Other words I"m not sure about:

To call someone a "ham" when they are being outgoing or looking for attention?

To call something trite "cheesy?"

If you do not use these words, what do you substitute them with? Just curious...

Cheesy- "corny"
Ham- "show-off" or ....(boys will love this....hee hee.....)"prima donna"!
That was fun... list some more!

I wouldn't think that it would be anti-vegan. My 4 year old calls everyone honey. They are just words of affection and not to be confused with what we choose to eat.
She won't always use those simple words , someday out of the blue she will call you phat and you won't know if she is just being funny or if she really means it

this made me laugh! Honey IS sweet and it's a wonderful substance, it's just that vegans don't eat it, so therefore it's def not anti-vegan to use it as a term of endearment. I think it's a cute word. I even considered it as a middle name for a girl when I was pregnant.

How about calling someone a 'Cow' when they're fat, or a 'pig' when they eat too much. Or when they're a jerk, but they use the word that's another name for a donkey.

Ok, now. Quit "horse-ing" around with this ding "bat" subject. Take a stand on which way you believe and stop being "mousey". If you don't agree with each other, don't "crab" about it. Just be loosey "goosey" and relax!
wow....I'm so lame it really "bugs" me. LOLOL
P.S. Ok, I'll quit "squaking" now. (that was the last one, honest!)
