Views on rented dead animal

The town I live in has an ice skating rink and they charge residents a really cheap rate for skating ($3). I figure when the babies are older, that will be a fun, affordable way to spend the afternoon. They can watch their mom slide around on her ass all over the ice rink. We'd be renting skates and I know those skates are made out of leather. I feel dirty having to wear poor murdered cow skin on my feet. The same problem will arise if we go rollerskating. I dont' know if they make vegan ice skates and/or roller skates but we don't have alot of money and would only buy them for the kids if they really were into the activity.

Any suggestions?
