pretty good comeback line

i am so sick and tired of non-vegan people telling me (with a smirk of satisfaction on their faces) that when my boys are older they will try eating meat. after years of eye-rolling i've come up with a pretty good comeback line. i tell these ner-do-wells that i'm raising my children to respect all life and i expect that their eating at McDonald's would have the same likelihood as them committing a hate crime.

slam dunk every time.

everyone tells me the same thing! My dad keeps saying, "What happens when I want to take him to Disney and he wants an ice cream?, don't worry he'll eat steak with me..." Yeah right! Maybe my child won't want to eat dead cow flesh or baby cow's milk and will be completely repulsed by the idea!
As for Disney, I was recently there and they had veggies, fruit, frozen fruit bars, veggie burgers (I didn't check if they were vegan though), and good ol' pb&j. Hooray!

My personal favorite is "how are you going to deal with feeding your son meat?" like it's necessary. FIL is particularly bad, he still doesn't quite believe that we're really going to do something as reckless as raising DS vegan! He's forever telling me how good eggs are for me and that we should at least eat them.

How I respond depends on who I'm talking to and how much they're bugging me. When someone starts on the "how can you deprive him of happy meals?" nonsense I usually go for "deprive him? by not buying him poop burgers? by not exposing him to eColi and who knows what other diseases?" I don't usually get much further before they learn it's best to shut up.
