earlier today my ds found a political cartoon that i have depicting an environmentalist driving past a truck-load of pigs on their way to the slaughterhouse. he asked me if the pigs were on their way to a farm. i told him "no" and that they were leaving a "farm" that raised them to be killed for their flesh. he looked worried but said nothing more. later he asked me if Farm Sanctuary raised their animals (to be killed). my poor sweet boy was frantic. i let him know those animals were safe and would only die of old age. i'll have to make sure we talk to the staff at FS about the fate of their animals next time we go, just to solidify what i was saying to him. my poor sweet boy!!
