My huge vegan baby
We just had the 2 month appointment today and my daughter is getting big. When she was born she was 9 lbs., and now she's 14! For height and weight she's above the 97th percentile. That'll show those naysayers. Just wanted to share. Here's a link to some pictures of her fatness:

She's so cute, Janine! She reminds me of my wee chubby boy who is 11 weeks today. He's so cuddly and roly-poly! At birth he was 9 lbs 11 oz, at 6 weeks he was 12 lbs 13 oz. I'm not sure what he weighs now but it's heavy!
We're obviously doing something right

Ooh lovely! reminds me of my little man too - he was 10lb at birth and went over the 99.6th at 7 weeks! Enjoy those cute legs while they last! (She'll be running before you know it!)

Lovely pictures!
I've another chubby vegan baby to add to this list - my baby son was 7lb 6oz at birth and two weeks ago, at 12 weeks of age, he weighed 19 lbs. He's 14 weeks now and still seems to be piling on the pounds (holding him is a workout in itself!).

Isn't it interesting that just in this small sample we have such large and thriving babies? (Mine was 8lb 2 and had doubled that by 4 months; he's now 5 months & still getting bigger -- very long, too).
The stereotype of suffering underweight and malnourished vegans (not just babies, either!) is just not the case in my experience.

I try not to gloat about this, but my neighbor across the street had a baby a few weeks before I did. She's a meat eater and is known for how much cheese she eats. Anyway, her baby was 5 lbs. 6 oz. (and mine was 9 lbs.) Her baby is healthy and everything, but I sure was glad mine was so big because I remember her telling me "if you're going to raise your child vegan, you'll have to be very careful. I mean VERY careful". Ha!

That's interesting! My daughter, Emily, ws 7lbs 3 oz at birth, which is pretty average, but I had her 2 weeks before the due date, so I wonder how big she would have been at 40 weeks.
I'm curious to see how big this baby I'm carryign now will be.

EEEK LOL! My last baby (born while a vegetarian) was 9-8. Makes me wonder how big this one will be! Let's hear it for healthy kids.

My son, who is now 15 months, weighed 8lbs 4 oz when he was born! It is interesting to see such healthy thriving vegan babies! That is great!
