VegFamily NewsVeg License Plates in VA
Virginia hopes to become first state with a special license plate for vegetarians and vegans.
Richmond, VA - July 31, 2009 - A new "special" Virginia license plate for vegetarians and vegans is being jointly sponsored by the Richmond Vegetarian Festival (www.veggiefest.org), Vegan Action (www.vegan.org), and the Vegetarian Society of Richmond (www.vegetarianrichmond.org). If approved, Virginia will become the first state with a special license plate for vegetarians and vegans. Article continues below The proposed new plate was designed by Richmond's own Noah Scalin, owner of Another Limited Rebellion (www.alrdesign.com), author of the book "Skulls", and the creative mind behind the whimsical designs for the Richmond Vegetarian Festival logo each year. The process involved in getting a new special plate approved is a lengthy and complicated one, and includes approval by both the Virginia DMV and the Virginia General Assembly. A minimum of 350 prepaid applications are required to be submitted with the design package. Interested vegetarians and vegans should e-mail VeggiePlates@live.com to find out more about applying for the new special vegetarian and vegan license plate by October 15, 2009 to make the new plate a reality. |
