Tofu Haiku

Are you a poet and you don't know it? Break out the pen and paper and let's find out! The Toronto Vegetarian Association is offering prizes to the best tofu haiku in the land! The Tofu Haiku poetry contest is a celebration of the coming together of two of this world's greatest forms: the classical poetic form of haiku and the ancient culinary marvel known through the ages as tofu. Your mission is this: send TVA your Tofu Haiku and they'll give you the chance to win awesome tofu prizes including Tofutti, Arsenal Pulp Press Vegan cookbooks and Tofu Hound Press books, a subscription to VegNews and Vegetarian Times magazines, and a Tofu Master t-shirt from VeganPorn.com.

Need some inspiration? Grab your haiku-loving child and craft a cool Tofu Haiku to submit (be sure to read the rules first).

Send entries to submissions@tofuhaiku.com by midnight EDT on May 21, 2007. Be sure to include your name, email, mailing address. You may give your age if you wish and may provide a pen name if you prefer. You may send up to three haikus per person but each entry should be sent as a separate email. By entering the contest you give your consent to have your name (or pen name) and haiku published by the Toronto Vegetarian Association.

Winners will be chosen by a panel of culinary and poetic experts. Check out the judges here and find out what they are looking for in a winner haiku.
