Product ReviewsAmy's Organic Orange and Chocolate Cakeswww.amyskitchen.com Review by Jennifer Levitan ![]()
When I heard about Amy's vegan cakes my first thought was "Oh, I hope they're good." I have been wishing for a frozen vegan cake to be created for a while now. My wish has come true... And then some. These are phenomenal. I almost fell over when I tasted both of them. Being a vegan, a craving for moist cake could never be solved by a quick drive to the supermarket for a cake from the bakery or the freezer section. You had to find time to bake it. Until now. Amy's cake comes in two varieties, chocolate and orange. They are available frozen and each loaf contains 6 servings and is 11 oz. 11 oz of moist, crumbly, sweet goodness. Even though they come frozen, there is no strange freezer after taste when they thaw. I was also very happy to see that for each serving of cake, there are only 6 grams of fat. No guilt with this cake! You can even enjoy it for breakfast. Article continues below These cakes taste as though they have just emerged from your oven. I tried the chocolate cake first. It had a rich, deep chocolate flavor and was just sweet enough. The cake was very moist and soft, and was perfectly springy. The orange cake was also perfect. The cake was moist and soft, like the chocolate, with just the right amount of spring. The orange flavor was clean and fresh, with just the right amount of sweetener. This cake was so delicious I could not stop eating it. I plan to enjoy it tomorrow for breakfast as well. If I don't finish the loaf tonight. Amy's recommends that you could enjoy your cake with fruit or your favorite non-dairy topping on it. There is no need. This cake stands on its own. You can easily serve this to guests for dessert and claim it as your own. But it is so good, I think you'll find it very hard to share. So, if you have been looking longingly into the freezer case at your market, hoping a quick to prepare, delicious cake would finally be there, your day has come. Just be sure to buy two because once word gets out how good these cakes are, they'll be hard to find. |
