Handi Pies
www.vegtime.com
Review by Erin Pavlina

Handi PiesI first had the pleasure of tasting a Handi Pie at the Natural Products Expo in early 2002. I was frustrated to learn that they wouldn't be available in my area for many months so I tried not to think about them. Recently, I was told they were coming to a store near me and I figured now was the time to let everyone know about them.

Handi Pies are meals in a crust. They come in four flavors: Hot Chick, Thai Vegetable, Tennessee Barbecue, and Curry. My favorite is the Tennessee BBQ followed closely by the Thai Vegetable. In a word... it's the sauce! When you bite into a hot, flaky BBQ Handi Pie, you get a burst of tangy sauce covering soy meat and onions in a corn and wheat crust. Delicious! This is comfort food at it's best.

Handi Pies are easy to make, and come out perfectly in the oven. They make a great on-the-go snack. Take them to work... the smell alone will make people want to go vegan. I hope you can find Handi Pies in a store near you. If not, ask your store to carry them. Visit the VegTime website to learn more about these tasty meals!
