Country Choice's Oatmeal on the Run Bars

I eat a lot less oatmeal during the warmer months. Somehow, oatmeal just seems like a wintery breakfast food. Yet I love oatmeal and find myself making other things like oatmeal cookies, muesli, and other homemade oatsy treats. Even so, I'm always on the look out for healthy snack and breakfast bars for busy moms like myself. So when Oatmeal on the Run hit the stores I had a feeling it would be something I'd enjoy and hoped my children would too.

The oat taste is very prominent—to be expected from an oatmeal bar I suppose. Was it like eating a bowl of oatmeal? Not really. More like muesli I think. I do find the taste to be more appealing to an adult; my children didn't care for the bars, but I certainly did (I ate two in one sitting!). Totally organic, each bar contains 200 mg of Omega 3's from flax, which made it ever more appealing to me.

If you're like me and love oats, and your kids are like mine and turn their noses up at the smell and taste of dry oats, this is a great bar to keep on the shelf for yourself! Your children might enjoy other products at Country Choice (they have a "Fit Kids" line of products that are great!) as well as their Eat Fruits and Veggies and Movin' and Groovin' word search puzzles.
