Why Did You Go Vegan?

I never qustionned my diet until I was 18 years old; I simply ate what my mother made. Then suddenly I became vegetarian. Looking back, it doesn't even seem like it was a consious choice. I was sitting at the dinner table one night and passed on the meat.

Once vegetarian, I felt much better: my body was more energetic, I was eating lower fat foods and had peace of mind. I also started to read about animal rights issues on the internet and bought "Vegan Sourcebook" by Joanne Stepaniak. I made a gradual transition to a vegan lifestyle and I would never go back. I am currently a student in a forest conservation science program and it is rewarding to know that I am not only doing all I can for the environment, but for other living organisms as well.
