Dairy Free – What Are Good Vegan Sources of Calcium?
Q I have been a vegetarian for the last 17 years. Now I want to give up dairy products too. Could you please tell me what should I eat to give my body calcium?
A The following foods are excellent sources for calcium:
- tofu
- soymilk
- sesame seeds, (sesame nut butter a.k.a. tahini) along with other nuts
- green leafy vegetables such as kale, collards etc.
- molasses
- sea vegetables
- avocado
- butternut squash
- artichokes
- brussel sprouts
- asparagus
- green beans
- mulberries
- gooseberries
